Neptune One is a purpose-built Komodo dive liveaboard run by Neptune Liveaboards, sleeping 16 guests in eight cabins — four deluxe suites below, four sea-view cabins above, two with balconies. Dive groups stay small, at a maximum of four divers per guide. Departures from Labuan Bajo; price on request.
Where most boats in our fleet are cruisers that can dive, Neptune One is the reverse: a komodo liveaboard diving boat first, built around the dive deck, the briefing routine and the guide ratio. The operator publishes a crew-to-guest ratio of roughly one to one, and it shows in the small-group discipline underwater — this is the boat for divers who count their guides before they count the cushions.
Neptune One or Neptune? Two different boats
Do not confuse Neptune One with Neptune, the 40-metre luxury phinisi that runs shared Komodo cruises with seven balcony cabins for 14 guests. Same name family, different vessels, different trips: Neptune is a cruise boat for sightseeing itineraries; Neptune One is a dedicated dive liveaboard. If you booked by name alone, check which deck you are actually standing on.

Kristo’s curation note
Neptune One is what I hand to certified divers who ask for the serious answer to Komodo — the four-per-guide rule is the detail that tells you the operation thinks like divers do. The tradeoff: this is a dive schedule, not a cruise, so non-diving partners will find the rhythm built around tanks, and the ridge walks fit around dive windows rather than the other way round.
Best for
- Certified divers who want a komodo dive liveaboard with small guided groups
- Solo divers joining by cabin without paying whole-boat money
- Dive clubs and groups taking the full boat as a private dive charter
- Divers targeting current sites — Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Manta Alley — with proper guiding
A typical 3D2N route in her class
A dive liveaboard runs Komodo by current tables, not by postcard order. Day one departs Labuan Bajo for a check dive at Sebayur, then an easy reef like Siaba Besar before the Kalong anchorage. Day two hits the north’s marquee drifts — Batu Bolong and Castle Rock or Crystal Rock on the slack windows — with Padar’s ridge or a Komodo Island ranger walk slotted between dives. Day three closes at Karang Makassar drifting with mantas, then the sail home. Longer schedules push south to Manta Alley when the season allows; our Komodo diving charter guide explains the seasonal split.
Booking notes for divers
Komodo’s marquee sites are current dives, and the boat’s four-per-guide ceiling exists because of them. Castle Rock and Batu Bolong reward divers with real drift experience; if your logbook is thin, say so at enquiry — the guides sequence easier reefs first and the park has plenty of them. Cabin choice matters more here than on a cruise boat: the two balcony sea-view cabins go first on every departure we have tracked, and solo divers should ask about shared-cabin terms early rather than assume a single supplement. Bring certification cards and insurance details at booking, not at the dock. And if half your party does not dive, be honest with yourselves — this boat’s day is built around tanks, and a private liveaboard like Oracle will keep the peace better than a dive schedule ever will.
Pricing: how Neptune One is quoted
Neptune One sells the way dive liveaboards do: per diver, by cabin category, on scheduled departures — with full-boat private charter available on request. We hold no verified public rate we are willing to print, so treat pricing as on request: send your dates and cabin preference and we return the operator’s live figure with dive-package inclusions itemised. Bookings and park permits run through our operating team at Komodo Luxury, TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice 2022–2025.
