Labuan Bajo Boat Charter is a commercial fleet desk, not a neutral review site. We operate charters through Komodo Luxury and broker vetted partner vessels for a commission that is already included in every quote. This page explains how we earn, how we grade boats, and the limits of our data.
What this page covers
This page gathers in one place the commercial relationships behind labuanbajoboatcharter.com, the rules our fleet data follows, and the limits of what a website can promise about the sea. It supplements our terms of use and privacy policy, which govern bookings and data respectively.
How we make money
Every charter confirmed through this site pays the desk in one of two ways. Vessels operated by Komodo Luxury earn us an operator’s margin. Partner vessels, meaning hulls we have boarded and graded but do not run ourselves, pay a brokerage commission out of the price you are quoted. In both cases the number you see is the number you pay: coming through this desk does not add a fee on top, and we do not quote inflated rack rates in order to discount them theatrically later.
How boats get listed and graded
No vessel pays to appear in the directory, and none can pay for a better class placement. Listing follows the boarded, documented, graded process described on our about page: a curator inspects the boat in person, records what was observed, and assigns one of six classes so that prices compare like with like. The commercial reality cuts both ways. We earn more when you book, but a mismatched boat costs us the follow-up trip and the referral, so the grades stay honest.
Pricing information
Prices shown on fleet and charter pages are “from” figures in US dollars, tied to the format labeled (whole boat or per person) and to the season in which they were verified. They move with fuel, season and demand. Where we could not verify a number, the page says price on request instead of estimating one. Only a written quote prepared for your dates binds either side, and park fees are always additional unless a quote says otherwise.
Reviews and awards
This website does not publish an aggregate rating of its own, and you will not find invented review counts here. The 4.9/5 from 1,500+ verified guests across Google and TripAdvisor, and the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice awards for 2025 and 2026, belong to Komodo Luxury, the operator behind this desk; we cite them as its record, not ours. Where guest feedback appears inside guides, it is quoted as experience, never converted into a score.
The journal’s independence
The Komodo Charter Journal is edited by Yohanes Sanggu and exists to answer planning questions accurately, not to dress up sales pages. Guides are not paid placements, and no vessel, hotel or operator has bought a recommendation in them. When a guide names boats, that reflects the curation desk’s grading, and the commercial relationship behind that grading is exactly the one disclosed above.
Sister brands and related sites
Labuan Bajo Boat Charter is part of a family: operated by Komodo Luxury (PT. Komodo Bahari Nusantara, Denpasar) under Juara Holding Group Limited of Hong Kong, alongside the sister brand Luxury Raja Ampat, the group’s Raja Ampat marine division. When our content references these brands, that is an in-house relationship, and we say so at the point of mention rather than presenting them as independent endorsements.
External links
Guides link to official sources such as park authorities, airlines and government fee schedules, and occasionally to third-party sites we do not control. A link is not an endorsement of everything behind it, and third-party prices or rules can change after we cite them.
Not professional advice
Nothing on this site is medical, legal or insurance advice. Sea conditions, diving fitness, seasickness medication and insurance coverage for boat-based travel are personal decisions to take with the relevant professionals. Our guides describe how the park works in practice; your captain’s and rangers’ instructions override anything written here.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, whether a price band, a cabin count or a fee, tell us at [email protected] and it will be checked against the harbor and corrected. When reality and the page disagree, the page changes.
